The Geodomes
What should you expect on your glamping get-away?

What to Pack:
We’ve got all the essentials covered, but you’ll still want to bring a few things…

-
CLOTHING: We suggest layers & options, regardless of the forecast. We’re a bit higher in elevation out here, so it can get chilly quickly when the temps drop, like at night in the summer, or anytime in the winter. Pack with your safety & comfort in mind, regardless of the season.
-
FOOD: Be sure to bring a cooler & ice packs!***
-
COFFEE/TEA: Bring your own grounds/tea bags, & any of your other favourite add-ins, such as sugar or milk!
-
MEDICATIONS: We provide a basic first aid kit, but bring any prescriptions & things like afterbite that you may want.
-
TOILETRIES: Keep in mind there is no running water so pack the essentials.
-
DRINKING WATER: We provide you with a large jug of water from our well onsite, but as per Alberta Health - because it's not filtered or monitored - we encourage you to bring drinking water.
Summer:
-
BUG SPRAY: You will be staying next to a large body of standing water.
-
SUN SCREEN: Stay protected!
-
TOWELS: If you're packing your swimsuit & intend to use the lake, please pack your own towels.
Winter:
-
OUTDOOR WINTER CLOTHES: If you're enjoying some winter glamping, please pack appropriately. If you're an international visitor & unsure of what you'll need, please reach out so we can make sure you're prepared for the weather.
-
HOT WATER BOTTLE: As of January 2024, there is a new propane stove in the geodome to keep you toasty. We've heard however that some folks still like bringing their own hot water bottle to help keep toes warm at night.
-
HOT COCOA/APPLE CIDER: Feel free to bring any of your favourite festive beverages on top of coffee/tea if you're taking in our snowy wonderland.
*** Please remember you are in BEAR country and be sure to store & dispose of your food appropriately, & keep your campsite clean in order to deter unwanted visitors.
There is a short (2 min) walk down a gravel path from where you park to the Stargazer's Dome. Please note there is also a hill/slope there, so wear appropriate footwear & be prepared to carry your stuff in/out
If you have any accessibility concerns/requests please message us in advance so we can plan to have a quad available to give you a hand with your belongings & such.

*We wash all our bedding in an ecofriendly soap with lavender EO in it, in order to help you drift off to sleep. If you are one of those rare people with a severe lavender allergy, we would kindly ask you to BOYB (bring your own bedding!) or give us 48 hours heads up so we can rewash & use an alternative laundry soap for you.
